Bambi and some other thoughts

Its been a week since I posted anything.  But its been a very busy and hectic week.  Here's a run down of events.
  1. Last Thursday was JJ's Easter party @ school.  It was CRAZY.  I said I would help out and with MJ there in tow, it was very difficult.  Note to self - DO NOT bring 1yo to help at 4yo's events again.
  2. Also last Thurs we traveled to visit family in Texas.  Long car ride (7 hours) and two children that were exhausted but decided it wasn't a good time to nap.  LONGEST. RIDE. EVER.
  3. Easter Sunday in Texas with family was fun.  Again, two children that hadn't caught up on napping were a mess, but thankfully enough family there to pass around responsibility.
  4. Monday - travel back to MS.  MASSIVE storm Monday night and we lose power at 4am Tuesday AM.
  5. Tuesday - no power when we all get up.  JJ dr. appt for a horrible cough.  Meds and back home to still NO power.  Frustrating and sweating beginning.  Tball for JJ that night and stopped and ate dinner on the way home to soak in a/c.  80F in our house at 9pm at night.  THANKFULLY at 925pm the power came back on and we were able to cool down.
  6. Today - JJ's school field day.  FUN.  But again exhausting for everyone!
So busyness for sure.  So, I mentioned Bambi in my title.  Well, the Easter Bunny brought JJ Bambi, so we decided to watch it yesterday.  As we are watching it I didn't realize before how much in that movie JJ really wouldn't understand and how many questions would result in the confusion.  What was Walt Disney thinking?  Seriously - I mean how do you explain to a kid that 'man' hunts animals and sometimes a baby would be without its mom? HUH?  And what about the whole spring 'mating' part?  WHAT? I just don't understand what the original authors/writers thought their audience were cut out for? I was going to watch Alice in Wonderland with him today - but maybe Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is not all that bad anymore?!

That's it for today.  I'm off to attempt to make some pizza dough and to start the process of making apple butter for Jackson's teachers for their end-of-the year present.  I'm giving myself PLENTY of time to make sure I get it right :) Adios.
